PURPOSE: A method for treating a surface of a magnesium alloy and a magnesium alloy with a treated surface are provided to obtain high luster metallic appearance by being provided to the surface of a product. CONSTITUTION: A method for treating a surface of a magnesium alloy comprises following steps. The surface of magnesium alloy is chemically processed. A chemical-processed layer is formed on the surface of the magnesium alloy(S100). The said step includes a step for etching the surface of the magnesium alloy with acid. A corrosion resistant coating layer is formed by coating the chemical-processed layer with corrosion resistant coating composition. A painting layer is formed by painting the corrosion resistant coating layer with painting composition.
