PURPOSE: A production method of magnetic transfer master carrier, a magnetic transfer master carrier, a magnetic transfer method, and a magnetic recording medium are provided to improve accuracy in processing the magnetic transfer master carrier for facilitating magnetic transfer of servo information. CONSTITUTION: A production method of magnetic transfer master carrier is as follows. An imprint resist layer(39) is formed on the surface of a magnetic layer(4) of a laminate(5) in which the magnetic layer is laminated on a first material(200). A resist pattern(6) following the shape of a concave part(35) of a mold(36) is formed on the surface of the magnetic layer by pressing the concave part against the imprint resist layer. A magnetic convex part is formed on the first material by removing the mold from the imprint resist layer and etching the surface of the magnetic layer having no resist pattern. The mold includes a second material and the concave part which is formed by etching the second material surface to correspond to the pattern of information recorded on a magnetic recording medium.
