PURPOSE: An image position controller and an optical device are provided to shift an image with high precision temporarily and reduce the size of the device without lowering the optical performance. CONSTITUTION: A position controller shifts an image. An optical system has two wedge prisms(13,14) with the approximately same vertical angles arranged in a reverse direction. A control unit(11) changes relatively distance of two wedge prisms. The relatively distance is changed based on the maximum change quantity.
