PURPOSE: A feeding device and a control method thereof are provided to carry out a long sheet smoothly. CONSTITUTION: A feeding device(2) includes the first feeding unit(21), the second feeding unit(22), and a controller. The first feeding unit conveys a long sheet in the longitudinal direction of the sheet. The second feeding unit conveys the long sheet carried out from the first feeding unit in a direction of diagonally crossing the feeding direction of the first feeding unit. The controller controls the first and second feeding units so that the second feeding unit can operate before the tip of the long sheet comes in contact with the second feeding unit.
