Apparatus for holding electrical components relative to a conductor plate comprises, a frame 1 for supporting the conductor plate, a cover 2 and an inflatable enclosure on the inside of the cover. The arrangement is such that components of various heights located on the conductor plate are held on the latter when the cover 2 is closed and the enclosure inflated. The frame 1 is adjustable in size and a layer of foam material 4 is located on the inflatable enclosure. The components are fitted on the conductor plate, which is then located on the frame 1. The cover 2 is closed and locked. The enclosure is inflated by a pump 8, whereupon the frame 1 and cover 2 are swung upwardly relative to the base of the apparatus to expose the underside of the conductor plate and the projecting ends of the component wires. The wires are then shortened and bent as required prior to dip soldering. |
