<p>An apparatus for linking mobile communication devices to wireless networks in underground edifices includes a plurality of base stations which are arranged at a spatial distance from one another inside tunnel systems, substantially in the direction of the tunnel axes, such that the reception areas of two adjacent base stations overlap as little as possible. All base stations operate on a single common channel. In a method used for the apparatus, the mobile station switches to an adjacent base station when a quality signal drops below a predetermined threshold value.</p> |
