The device has a conveying device (2) including pushers (4) to push printed sheets (22) in a conveying direction. Feeder units (3) with feeders, are arranged side-by- side along the device and on undercarriage (5) that includes interface sections assigned to the units. Each of the sections has an interface configuration to supply power to the units. An adapter device (7) is arranged on the section and includes a top side compatible for attaching feeders with an interface configuration (10) and the bottom side compatible with the former configuration so that the device is fitted on the section. An independent claim is also included for a method of producing bound printed products.
