Smoke alarm device

The method involves energizing an electroacoustic sound generator for producing sound by transient electrical excitation. An electrical signal alternating current voltage is temporarily measured depending on decayed sound. A measure for the contamination of smoke inlets (2) is calculated from characteristics of the signal alternating current voltage. The alternating current voltage is directly tapped at the sound generator or at a signal electrode, where the signal electrode is connected with the sound generator. An independent claim is also included for a smoke alarm with a measuring chamber.
