PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to have high aperture ration by securing an area of a pixel electrode. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an LCD display device comprises the steps of: forming a thin film transistor and a signal line on a first substrate; forming an organic insulating film on the signal line and the thin film transistor; forming contact holes(182) and openings(183,184) on the organic insulating film; forming a pixel electrode that is connected to the thin film transistor; forming a common electrode on a second substrate; and forming a sealing member(320) on the first or second substrate.
