A method for use in a communications system comprising a plurality of cells, each cell associated with a base station configured for wireless communications with one or more mobile stations in the cell; wherein said method comprises: receiving from a first mobile station in a first one of said cells a first indicator of the power with which said first mobile station receives a base station signal associated with a second one of the cells; and making a determination on the basis of at least said first indicator as to whether said first mobile station should be instructed to change at least one of its wireless transmission parameters in order to reduce the interference of its transmissions with transmissions made by one or more mobile stations in the second cell.
