Device for installing and changing pipe registers in a process furnace in the chemical or petrochemical industry, comprises a horizontal slot in the top of the combustion chamber extending into a vertical slot in the end wall, a carriageway spanning the horizontal slot and projecting over the vertical slot for moving pipe registers into and out of the chamber and a clamp for holding pipes together and forming part of a travelling lift system. A device for installing/removing pipe registers (each made up of vertical pipes) in/from the combustion chamber of a process furnace in the chemical or petrochemical industry, in which at least one of the end walls of the chamber has at least one vertical slot which is at least as long as the greatest vertical extension of a pipe register. In this system, (a) the top of the combustion chamber has a horizontal slot extending over its entire length and becoming a vertical slot at one of the end walls, (b) there is a carriageway (trolleyway girder or bridge beam) for moving pipe registers into and out of the combustion chamber, extending over the entire length of the horizontal slot and projecting over the vertically-slotted end wall by at least one register width and (c) the device has a clamp for holding the pipes in a register above the top of the combustion chamber, which together with suitable devices (lift-pulls, trolleys, traversing winders etc.) forms a travelling lift system supported on the carriageway and capable of moving in both directions over its entire length. |
