PURPOSE: A composition for preventing or treating asthma or allergic diseases, which contains poly gamma glutamic acid is provided to use as a novel therapeutic agent which has less toxicity and causes less side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating asthma or allergic diseases comprises a poly gamma glutamic acid and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The molecular weight of the poly gamma glultamic acid is 1~2000kDa. The poly gamma glutamic acid suppresses the expression of IL-4 or IL-14. The composition is for oral administration.
