Keypad for a security system

Methods, computer-readable mediums, apparatuses, and systems are provided. For example, a method is disclosed which includes identifying at least one security system function, in a plurality of security system functions, for blocked user access when a keypad is away from a predetermined location; and storing the plurality of security system functions on a processor. In another embodiment a security keypad (102) is disclosed which includes an LCD (104) having a static portion (506) and a dynamic portion (504); a multiplexing LCD controller (510) coupled to the dynamic portion (504); a static LCD controller (512) coupled to the static portion (504); DC/DC converter (508) coupled to the multiplexing LCD controller (510); a keypad processing unit (516) coupled to the multiplexing LCD controller (510), the static LCD controller (512), and the DC/DC converter (508); and a power supply (526) coupled to the DC/DC converter (508), the keypad processing unit (516), and the static LCD controller (512).
