A sliding bearing is provided to for absorb an extensive displacement between the upper and lower structures of a seismic isolation building or bridge with the relatively small dimension and to support a vertical load applied to unspecified spots stably and horizontal and revolution loads smoothly. A sliding bearing for absorbing an extensive displacement comprises an upper plate(10) which is mounted beneath an upper structure of a seismic isolation building or bridge and extends long in the longitudinal direction, a lower plate(20) which is mounted on a lower structure of a seismic isolation building or bridge and extends long in the longitudinal direction, an upper sliding portion(30) which is arranged beneath the upper plate and slides horizontally along the upper plate, a lower sliding portion(40) which is arranged on the lower plate and slides horizontally along the lower plate which is installed to be crossed perpendicularly to the upper plate, and a rubber plate(50) which is arranged between the upper and lower sliding portions in order to elastically support the interval between an upper body(31) and a lower body(41).
