An optical interface apparatus, and an optical application system and method are provided to reduce the cost for operation of an external application devices by using the laser light emitted from an optical recording/reproducing device. An optical interface apparatus comprises an optical extractor(121), an optical signal transmission line(122), and an amplifier(123). The optical extractor extracts the light from a light source installed on a pick-up of an optical recording/reproducing device, and determines if the light source is in an idle state. The optical signal transmission line transmits the light extracted by the optical extractor to an optical application device(130). The amplifier amplifies the amount of the extracted light. |
