A nonaqueous electrolyte solution, and a secondary battery containing the electrolyte solution are provided to improve capacity holding property and lifetime of a battery. An electrolyte solution comprises an electrolyte salt; an electrolyte solvent; and 0.1-20 parts by weight of a compound represented by the formula 1 to 100 parts by weight of the electrolyte solution, wherein R1 is a lactone group of C4~C30; and R2 is a hydrocarbon group of C1~C20.
