A method for manufacturing a 2-sulfonyliminoindoline using a copper catalyst is provided to produce a target compound and used as an intermediate in manufacturing medicinal and pharmaceutical product. A 2-sulfonyliminoindoline compound of the chemical formula (3) is produced by reacting a basic compound with an aminoacetylene compound of the chemical formula (1) and sulfonylazide compound of the chemical formula (2) under the presence of copper catalyst. The copper catalyst is used in 1-20 mole% based on the aminoacetylene compound of the chemical formula (1). The basic compound is third amine compound. The used solvent is tetrahydrofurane, chloroform, acetonitrile, dimethylformamide, 1,4- dioxin or methylene chloride.
