A backlight unit having the health care role is provided, which is equipped in the display device including a monitor, a cellular phone, and LCD etc and naturally improves immune function. A backlight unit having the health care role comprises a plurality of light emitting diodes. Each light emitting diode comprises: a light source(100) irradiating the light ray of the wavelength which is useful to the human body; and an optical output unit(200) outputting the light ray irradiated from the light source to the liquid crystal panel. The light emitting diode is comprised of illumination packages for the health care.
