PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio-visual recorder which enhances an operability when programs of a plurality of channels are simultaneously recorded. SOLUTION: When an instruction signal for tuning a desired channel is inputted in response to a user operation, a microcomputer 11 makes all tuners other than a tuner which is recording an audio-visual signal to be outputted thereby in a recording medium 7 of tuners 2a to 2c receive a broadcasting signal of a channel instructed by the user, and controls each part to display the audio-visual signal outputted by any one tuner thereof on a TV 40. When an instruction signal of starting a videotape recording is inputted, the microcomputer 11 controls each part to record, in the recording medium 7, the audio-visual signal outputted from any one of the tuners which receive the broadcasting signal of the same channel with the channel of the program which is not recording the audio-visual signal outputted at the point in time in the recording medium 7, and is displayed on the TV 40.
