PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide iron-based powder for a dust core capable of reducing the coersive force of the iron-based powder itself, and reducing even the coersive force of the dust core when the dust core is formed. SOLUTION: It is preferable that the iron-based powder contains powder by≥50% (including 100%) in number fraction, where its circularity degree is≥0.75, contains powder by≤15% (including 0%) in number fraction, where its circularity degree is≤0.65, and also the average value of a circle-equivalent diameter is≥50μm.
