PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device or the like that excels in temperature uniformity of a fixing belt 61, and has improved safety from a temperature increase in a fixing belt 61 in an abnormal state. SOLUTION: The fixing device 60 includes: a fixing belt 61 containing a conductive layer that is heated by the action of a magnetic field; a driving section that rotates the fixing belt 61; an electromagnetic induction heating member 65 that generates a magnetic field; a pressure roller 62 that is firmly pressed against the circumferential face of the fixing belt 61, thereby forming a fixing nip N between the fixing belt 61 and itself, through which a recording material with an unfixed image held thereon is inserted; a pressure pad 63 that presses the fixing belt 61 against the pressure roll 62 from the inside of the fixing belt 61; and a temperature sensor 70 that detects the temperature of the fixing belt 61. The temperature detecting section contains a temperature sensitive magnetic material, and switches by virtue of magnet's movement at the Curie point of the temperature sensitive material or greater, thereby stopping the generation of the magnetic field in the heating section.
