PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support material which not only positively supports a sheet pile group but also forms a substantially polygonal excavation section, or a circular excavation section inclusive of an elliptic or oval one, and further facilitates mounting thereof on an internal surface of the sheet pile group. SOLUTION: The annular support material 10 arranged inside the sheet pile 20 group for preventing the excavation section from collapsing is divided into a plurality of pieces, and the length of the divided support material 10 itself is set to an integer multiple of a working breadth dimension of each sheet pile 20.
