<p>A banknote handling apparatus (1) has an identification means (6) to identify the kinds of the banknotes, pile-up means (32) to (36) to pile up given kinds of banknotes identified by the identification means (6), and a banding means (51) to band the banknotes piled up by the pile-up means (32) to (36). The banding means (51) includes a tape setting section (80) to set a plurality of reel tapes (52), (53), a banding mechanism (54) to bind the piled up banknotes using a tape (T1) or (T2) rolled out of either a reel tape (52) or (53) set in the tape setting section (80), and a tape changeover means (96) to change over the tape (T1) or (T2) fed from the tape setting section (80) to the banding mechanism (54) according to the kinds of banknotes identified by the identification means (6).</p> |
