<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell suppressed in malfunction caused by air bubbles in a sealing material accumulating part. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 1 has: a membrane-electrode assembly 10 having a pair of electrodes 16, 18 holding a region excluding an electrolyte membrane 14 and the periphery part 15 of the electrolyte membrane 14; a pair of fuel cell separators 12 which hold the membrane-electrode assembly 10 therebetween and in which gas passages 34a, 34b are formed; and a sealing material 20 sealing a space between the fuel cell separator 12 and the periphery 15 of the electrolyte membrane 14. A sealing material accumulating part 38 for accumulating the surplus of the sealing material 20 is formed between the sealing face of the fuel cell separator 12 facing the sealing material 20 and the gas passages 34a, 34b, and a discharge means 39 for discharging air bubbles existing in the sealing material accumulating part 38 to the gas passages 34a, 34b is formed between the sealing material accumulating part 38 and the gas passages 34a, 34b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
