<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems with a liquid crystal display device forming a light shielding structure by laminating a plurality of color layers constituting color filters without using a black matrix layer that there is a need for preparing separate masks for respective color layers of RGB, and the reduction of the manufacturing cost is difficult. <P>SOLUTION: The active matrix liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate with a color filter formed thereon and operable in a normally black mode, and a second substrate with an active matrix array formed thereon. The first substrate includes a laminated colored layer with three colors, a laminated colored layer with two colors and a colored layer with one color in a frame part surrounding a display area without being provided with a black matrix. The second substrate includes a conductive film to cover a region which is opposed to the laminated colored layer with two colors and the colored layer with one color, between the display area and the laminated colored layer with three colors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
