<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping socket which reduces mechanical stress caused by insertion of an object to be connected. <P>SOLUTION: The socket is used for connecting a board edge 7 that is inserted in a first direction A1 in a predetermined direction. The socket includes housing 6 having a conductive contact 1 movable in the predetermined direction and a spring 4 that biases the contact 1 in a second direction A2 opposite to the first direction.
