PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technique for file search by use of correlation between file events. SOLUTION: Units 3a, 3b and 3c for generating correlation between file events include detection means for detecting the occurrence of the file events, a file event table T1 for storing file event information detected by the above detection means, a correlation table T2 for storing correlation information in regard to the correlation between the file events, an extraction means for extracting another file event from the above file event table T1, and a determination means for determining a file correlation value indicative of the correlation of the contents between the files.
