PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a claw-pole type motor which can be reduced in size in diameter direction, while maintaining the efficiency of output characteristics high, and to provide a pump equipped with the same. SOLUTION: The claw pole type motor 11 is provided with a rotatably supported rotor 13, and a stator 15 for transmitting a rotation drive force to the rotor 13. The stator 15 has an annular coil 35, housed and disposed in the inside of an iron core disposed on the outer circumferential side, wherein a value of proportion of the iron core which is obtained, by dividing the cross sectional area of the iron core in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of a motor in the iron core by the cross sectional area of the stator, in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the motor in the stator as a whole is set at 0.17-0.28.
