PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system capable of saving man-hour for transmitting/receiving FAX documents rather than the prior arts. SOLUTION: A communication system includes a server device and an IP telephone set. The server device stores therein a plurality of types of formats and sentences for document creation and when a document material request signal indicating a request of predetermined format and sentence, from among the plurality of formats and sentences, is received from the network over a network, the server device transmits the predetermined format and sentence to the outside. The IP telephone set has a display unit capable of displaying thereon a document. When an instruction is inputted for selecting the predetermined format and sentence from among the plurality of formats and sentence, the IP telephone set transmits the document material request signal to the server device, and when the predetermined format and sentence are received from the server device, the IP telephone set creates and displays on the display unit a document obtained by combining the predetermined format and sentence. When an instruction is inputted for transmitting a telephone number of a facsimile of a transmission destination and the document, the IP telephone set transmits the document to the facsimile specified by the telephone number.
