A method for downloading files and a terminal, the method includes following steps: a download description information of files to be downloaded which contains an ability information is received(S601); whether the ability of a terminal satisfies the ability information is jugded(S602); if yes, the files to be downloaded are downloaded(S604). According to the invention, whether subsequent contnent of the files to be downloaded will be download sequentially can be jugded by the terminal conveniently, user operation can be avoided, and the using experience of users can be improved.
