<p>An air spring device has an air spring (4) inside which gas is sealed and which is constructed from an upper face plate (1), a lower face plate (2), and a tubular flexible diaphragm body (3) having opposite ends respectively air tightly connected to the upper and lower face plates (1, 2). Between the lower face plate (2) and a lower supporting plate (8) located spaced downward from the lower face plate (2), there are serially arranged a shear spring means (5) and a compression spring means (6) which consist mainly of a rubber material. When a vertical load is applied to the air spring device, the shear spring means (5) is subjected mainly to shear deformation and the compression spring means (6) is subjected mainly to compressive deformation. The air spring device also has a contact member (10) for causing the compression spring means (6) to support a load in place of the shear spring means (5) after the amount of deformation of the shear spring means (5) reaches a predetermined level.</p> |
