<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet type rotary electric machine which interrupts electric currents in abnormal conditions simply and reliably. <P>SOLUTION: In the permanent magnet type rotary electric machine which uses a permanent magnet as a rotor and a hexagonal coil as a stator winding, current interruption mechanisms F1 to F3 are provided to windings 11x, 11y, and 11z composing each turn of the hexagonal coil.
