<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in a discharge of NOx into the atmosphere even if the adsorption performance of a NOx adsorbent is deteriorated, in an exhaust gas purifier configured to remove the NOx in exhaust gas by adsorbing it by the NOx adsorbents. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust gas purifier includes: a plurality of branch exhaust passages 2, 3; a converging exhaust passage 110; a shutoff valve 4 changing inflow and shutoff of exhaust gas into/from the branch exhaust passages 2, 3; the NOx adsorbents 5 temporarily adsorbing the NOx under an excessive air atmosphere, desorbing the adsorbed NOx under a reduction atmosphere, and reducing the NOx under the reduction atmosphere to form ammonia; a first combustion device 6 arranged on the exhaust upstream side of the NOx adsorbent 5, having an air supply means, and converting air supplied from the air supply means into the reduction atmosphere; and a selective reduction catalyst 19 arranged in the converging exhaust passage 110 and selectively reducing the NOx with the ammonia as a reducing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
