PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a structure which allows a user to have a smooth operation feeling without the feeling of being caught when adjusting a height position of a steering wheel. SOLUTION: First/second springs 25, 26 are hung over between a pressing unit 16a and a fixed bracket 20a and between the head part 13b of a tilt bolt 12b and the fixed bracket respectively. The pressing unit 16a and the head part 13b are biased toward the oscillation center axis of a tilt mechanism. An engaging protrusion 21a is provided on a cam plate 19, constituting the pressing unit 16a, so as to be engaged with an elongated hole 9a in order to stop rotation of the cam plate 19. The side face 24 of the engaging protrusion is pressed against the side edge part 22 of the elongated hole 9a. Thereby, the engaging protrusion 21a is prevented from being caught by indentations formed in the side edge part 22, so that the smooth operation feeling is achieved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
