PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printed material in which the characteristic color of a document is left, as well as reducing user's task of specifying a color or colors in a color mode in which colors to be used are limited as in two-color copying. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 for printing an image, read from a document, onto paper includes: an image reading means 11 for reading an image from a document; an image processing means A for detecting one or more colors used in this image, and selecting colors from the detected colors in order to use them for printing; and a printing means 14 for performing print using the selected color or colors.
