PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detection device capable of preventing erroneous detection of rotation, when detecting rotation of a rotator. SOLUTION: This rotation detection device 10 includes a comparator 43 for outputting an output signal Cm<SB>2</SB>corresponding to a difference between the second threshold voltage set on the periphery of an amplitude center of a differential output signal Vm output from an operation amplifier 41 and the differential output signal Vm, a comparator 42 for outputting an output signal Cm<SB>1</SB>corresponding to a difference between the first threshold voltage set to be higher than the second threshold voltage and the differential output signal Vm, and a comparator 44 for outputting an output signal Cm<SB>3</SB>corresponding to a difference between the third threshold voltage set to be lower than the second threshold voltage and the differential output signal Vm. The rotation detection device 10 detects a rotational position of a rotor R based on the output signal Cm<SB>2</SB>by a signal processing circuit 48, and determines whether the possibility of including an abnormal signal in the output signal C<SB>2</SB>is strong or not, based on output progress of the output signal Cm<SB>2</SB>with the output signal Cm<SB>1</SB>and the output signal Cm<SB>3</SB>.
