The invention relates to a roller that comprises a rolling bearing having an outer ring connected to an annular body and a thin tread overmoulded on the circumference of the body, the tread and the body being made of the same thermoplastic material and the tread having a thickness sufficient for compensating the shape defects of the body. The invention also relates to a method for making a roller that comprises two parts, i.e. a body (6) and a tread (11), wherein said method comprises the steps of: moulding a first of the two parts using a thermoplastic material; allowing the first part to cool down in order to reveal the shape defects due to the withdrawal of the first part; overmoulding, using the same thermoplastic material, the second of the two parts on the first part, the second part having a thickness that is sufficient for compensating for the shape defects of the first part (6). |
