摘要 Provided is a microporous carbonaceous material that can express the functions of a supported metal while maintaining the fine porosity functions the microporous carbonaceous material originally possesses. A microporous carbonaceous material (5) has a three-dimensional long-period ordered structure in the range from 0.7 to 2 nm, and has micropores (2a); a transition metal (4) is supported on the surface of the micropores (2a). The microporous carbonaceous material may be obtained through a method comprising: a process wherein an organic compound is introduced on the surface of and inside the micropores of a porous material including a transition metal, and the organic compound is carbonized by means of chemical vapor deposition, thereby producing a composite of a microporous carbonaceous material including a transition metal, and a porous material; and a process to remove the porous material. Alternatively, the microporous carbonaceous material may be obtained through a method wherein an organic compound is introduced on the surface of a porous material and then a microporous carbonaceous material is created through chemical vapor deposition, which is then immersed/impregnated in a transition metal salt solution, thereby supporting a transition metal on the surface of the microporous carbonaceous material.
