<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high-speed engraving in a recording medium while suppressing costs. <P>SOLUTION: Upon deep-engraving, an output (power) of a laser is increased and a record medium is first engraved to a depth Y2 (first depth) with a laser beam LA exiting from an optical fiber end 71A of an optical fiber 70A (optical fiber end group 301A).
