<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single mode optical fiber that can materialize expansion of an effective core cross section and reduction of bending loss while having chromatic dispersion equivalent to that of an ordinary single mode optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The single mode optical fiber is characterized in that cable cutoff wavelength is≤1,260 nm, that an effective core cross section at 1,550 nm wavelength is≥100μm<SP>2</SP>, that bent loss when bent ten times with a bending radius of 20 mmϕis≤30 dB, and that zero-scattering wavelength is in the range of 1,300-1,324 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
