PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing the stator of an electric motor, which can prevent deterioration in the characteristics of materials by preventing the application of a compression stress to an iron core of the stator, and prevent the application of a fixing force, even if the temperature rises. SOLUTION: The stator of the electric motor has a segment-shape convex portion on the outer circumference of a yoke, and a case of the electric motor has a segment-shape concave portion on the inner circumference. Alternatively, the stator of the electric motor has a segment-shape concave portion on the outer circumference of the yoke, and the case of the electric motor has a segment-shape convex portion on the inner circumference. The convex portion and the concave portion are mated to each other, thereby connecting the stator of the electric motor to the case of the electric motor. Furthermore, a thermosetting resin-based adhesive is applied to the portion of coupling the stator of the electric motor and the case of the electric motor. The coupling portion is heated to cure and thermally shrink the thermosetting resin-based adhesive, thus resulting in imparting tensile strength to the stator of the electric motor.
