PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal unit, a control method, and a program capable of improving operability using pressure sensors. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal unit 100 comprises a first and a second pressure sensors 25A and 25B and a CPU 39. The first and the second pressure sensor 25A and 25B are arranged at two countering side faces 24A and 24B in a lower housing 20. The CPU 39 operates a difference value of pressure applied to the first and the second pressure sensors 25A and 25B, respectively, and controls the status of the mobile terminal unit 100 based on the difference value. The CPU 39 determines the direction of scrolling in a LCD 11 arranged on the surface of the housing according to positive/negative of the difference value, and controls the speed of scrolling according to the magnitude of the difference value. In addition, on the basis of the positive/negative and the magnitude of the difference value, the CPU 39 controls selection of fast forwarding or rewinding reproduction and the speed of fast forwarding or rewinding for voice data and moving picture data outputted by the mobile terminal unit 100, and also controls sound volume of voice data.
