PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trigger switch capable of eliminating bad effects such as abrasion due to contact in an electric power tool. SOLUTION: In the electric power tool equipped with the trigger switch in a grip section, the trigger switch is equipped with a switch for turning on and off a motor and a switch for turning on and off speed control. Both of the switches are turned on and off by sliding motion by the trigger lever 13. The switch for turning on and off a motor is formed of: a first fixed contact 28 disposed on a conductive plate 22; a first movable contact 37 disposed on a swingablly supported movable contact plate 31; and a sliding member 44 which is disposed on the trigger lever 13 and slides and swings a movable contact plate 31. The switch for turning on and off speed control is formed of: a second fixed contact 27 disposed in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the trigger lever 13; and a second movable contact 49 which is attached to the trigger lever 13 and disposed around the front end of a slide plate 45.
