PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect the position of an object to be positioned that is moving around within a room having walls and partitions. SOLUTION: A position detection server includes: region computing means for finding an almost error-free distance between an AP machine and a terminal by using map information to correct an attenuation of radio wave intensity that has been caused by a wall, and for finding the position of the terminal as a region of presence of the terminal from the distance, allowing for a fluctuation in radio wave intensity due to the characteristics of a radio wave; and position detecting means for restricting the region of presence of the terminal within a possible range of action of the terminal according to the state of the terminal as estimated from a history of position, for using the map information to exclude places blocked by the wall as seen right from the front of the terminal, for narrowing down to the direction of movement of the terminal as estimated by increases and decreases in radio wave intensity from a history of radio wave intensity, and for calculating the position of the terminal in accordance with the region thus narrowed down.
