PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can easily create a circular ring, a rotary duct, a shroud, a barrel or a cylindrical outer wall, all of these being of a desired strength, using an optional metallic or nonmetallic material, even if the diameter of the above items exceeds about 2.7 m, and a creating method. SOLUTION: The circular ring, rotary duct, shroud, barrel or cylindrical outer wall, all of these having a diameter exceeding about 2.7 m is fabricated. In this creating process, a thin strap 101 made of a metal, a ceramic, a cermet, a fiber or a synthetic resin, each having a thickness of 0.01 to 5 mm, or a thin strap 101 made of rubber or silicone with a thickness of 0.1 to 50 mm, is wound in layers around the circumference of a giant take-up wheel 200 at least twice. In addition, these laminated thin straps are formed into a longitudinal plate part with a diametral thickness of not less than 2 mm, when the thin strap is made of the metal, ceramic, cermet, fiber or synthetic fiber, and a longitudinal plate part with a thickness of not less than 4 mm, when the thin strap is made of the metal, ceramic, cermet, fiber, synthetic resin, rubber or silicone. Thus it is possible to easily create the circular ring, rotary duct, shroud, barrel or cylindrical outer wall, all having a sufficient strength. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
