PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treating agent with which an aggregation treatment by an aggregating agent is smoothly performed and to provide a water treatment method. SOLUTION: The water treating agent which is prepared by adding a specific gravity adjusting agent for increasing or decreasing the specific gravity of the water to be treated to the aggregating agent, is used so that impurities in the water to be treated are aggregated in a state that the specific gravity of the water to be treated is increased or decreased, and obtained aggregates are surfaced or precipitated. As a result, the aggregates can be satisfactorily separated/removed from the water to be treated. It becomes unnecessary to arrange a separation/removal unit separately. Water treatment can be smoothly performed without increasing a cost. Further, the residual aggregates get less, so that the time and labor necessary for cleaning work of the residual aggregates can be saved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
