PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic treatment apparatus which is capable of clotting and incising a body tissue at lower vibration speed, and capable of performing a stronger treatment at a speed almost the same as the conventional treatment even for a site highly safe and having no danger of heat damage by using both cavitation and frictional heat. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic treatment apparatus is provided with a rotatably supported grasping member 20 facing an ultrasonic transmission member 4 on the distal end portion of a sheath portion 11 into which the ultrasonic transmission member 4 to which ultrasonic wave output from an ultrasonic transducer 6 is transmitted is detachably inserted. By operation of a movable handle 16 on the proximal end portion of the sheath portion 11, the grasping member 20 is opened/closed with respect to the ultrasonic transmission member 4. The distal end portion 21 of the ultrasonic transmission member 4 has a vertical face 29 extended in a direction crossing the vibration direction of the ultrasonic vibration on a face facing the grasping member 20, and a groove portion 28 to generate cavitation by the vertical face 29 in a state that the body tissue is grasped between the grasping member 20 and the distal end portion 21 of the ultrasonic transmission member 4.
