PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for making an external device available, using various functions provided in a host unit by remote control from a remote controller by connecting the external device to the remote controller. SOLUTION: A remote controller has an interface for connecting an external device, switches the operation system of an operating means to an operation system corresponding to an external device connected through the interface for connecting an external device, and controls a host unit, based on the input operation from a user in the operating means where the operation system is switched.
