<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extruded product (including a film-like or a sheet-like product) of a nano dispersed polymer blend having a microscopic dispersed structure and a method for manufacturing the same, in melt kneading of incompatible polycarbonate (PC)/polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), wherein when one polymer component PC is made into a matrix, size of a dispersed phase of the other polymer component PMMA is controlled to be several hundred nm or less. <P>SOLUTION: The extruded product of the nano dispersed polymer blend having the microscopic dispersed structure in which when one polymer component PC is made into a matrix, size of dispersed phase of the other polymer component PMMA is controlled to be several hundred nm or less, can be manufactured by melt kneading of the incompatible polymer blend using a micro scale high shear molding processing machine in which a screw is rotatable in≥1000 rpm, without adding any excessive additive, such as a compatibilizer. Specifically, it is necessary to boost a shear flow field applied to a blend sample in the micro scale shear molding processing machine in order to form a microstructure of a nanometer level. A method to further rev up number of revolutions of the screw, to lengthen kneading time under a fixed number of revolutions, or the like, is effective. First creation of an optically transparent material can be achieved by preparing such high shear molding processing conditions to form a structure in which the size of the dispersed phase is controlled to be several hundred nm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
