DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RECOVERING PATH FAILURE IN COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fault switching to a backup path having a long path length at high speed in a preassign restoration system.

SOLUTION: One of a plurality of paths connecting nodes at two points on a communication network is set as an active path, and the other path is set as a backup path where connectivity is secured along a path between a start point and an end point. In the case of fault occurrence to the active path, the active path is switched to the backup path through switching operation of a not at the start point or end point, and in the case of fault occurrence to the other active path, the band of the backup path is released as a band for accommodating a backup path prepared for fault recovery of other active paths.
